  Module Introduction

A key function of the United Nations is to procure goods, services and works to support its activities at its Headquarters (HQ), Offices Away from Headquarters
(OAHs), Regional Offices, Commissions and Tribunals, as well as Peacekeeping/Political Operations (Field Missions).

The Procurement Manual is intended to provide guidance on procurement policies, procedures and practices to all staff members involved in the procurement and acquisition processes and activities in all such offices and locations.

In this module we will read about the general principles, regulations and rules governing the procurement process.

At the end of this module, you will be able to:
Explain UN Financial Regulations and Rules specific to procurement
Describe the Best Value for Money principle
